Kevin - What a great site!  I am diehard Cardinal fan once removed (we moved from St. Louis to Iowa when I was 12) but I was there in 1964, 1967 and 1968 before we moved in 1969.  What a great site.  I plan to revisit it frequently!

05 Feb 2002 Kevin - I really like your site.  Nice work.  I'm actually surprised that there are so few sites out there dedicated to the Cardinals.  Yours is the best I've seen.  I'm 29 years old, born & raised in STL and obviously I love the Redbirds.  Unfortunately last August my wife was transferred to Williamsburg VA by Anheuser-Busch.  I had season tickets in the bleachers at Busch for 3 years before I left.  Now I'm stranded!

Anyway, I've sort of re-discovered collecting.  But I've found that now I'm bored by baseball cards.  I really like your WS programs and other memorabilia.  Could you give me any ideas on where you got your
stuff?  I've been doing a little bit of shopping on eBay.  I recently discovered Enos Slaughter & Bruce Sutter's adressesses.  I'm going to write them to see if either one will sign a ball or something.  Keep up
the good work.  Mike Hamel

15 Feb 2002 Kevin, Ran across this website.  I didn't realize you were such an avid Cardinals fan! Thought I would just send you an email to say "hello". Talk to you later. Doug Hadley (Kathy's nephew)

Kevin
We just had to check out your wonderful "Cardinals history site".  WOW!!!!!!  We are truly impressed!  We've bookmarked it in our favorites.  Great job for a kid born in 1967.

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed you website.  I am also a Cardinal fan, but maybe not quite at your level.  I live in Central/Western Illinois (near Hannibal, MO) and try to get to as many Cardinal's games as my schedule will allow.  I am a IL State Trooper and my swing shifts often get in the way of attending.

I don't know if you would be interested in a "NOT USED" STUB still attached 1985 National League Championship Series Ticket? Game 5 Field Box seat.  Not pimping, but I have had this ticket since that game.  I was unable to attend due to a family emergency.  At one time I thought about collecting Cardinal tickets and that as since went to the way side.  Anyway, thanks for the "fact-full" website for the greatest Major League.  GO CARDINALS!!!
30 Mar 2002 Kevin, Nice work... love your page.  Could you add a link to my page from yours http://redbirdworld.tripod.com/ thx Dr. Death Danny Deatherage

Kevin - I have a 1934 souvenir Baseball Bat from Peterman's Bird House.

It says Cards VS Tigers 1934 World Series and has a pennant attached.  It is a small bat, not a game size bat.

I have asked dozens of people but no one can tell me anything about it.  It is not for sale as I have got attached to it over the years.  If anyone can tell me about this bat, after looking at your web site, then it is you.  Please help!

05 Apr 2002 Kevin - Nice work creating this website.  I found it doing a search for Ken Boyer.  I grew up in Webster Groves watching Flood, Brock, Gibson, Carlton and loved the Whitey Ball years.  30 years later, I'm still bitter about the Carlton for tired Rick Wise trade.  Whatever Augie.  I moved to Arizona in 1995 and still can't cut the umbilical cord.  I tried last year in the playoffs, but when Tony Womack got the hit to eliminate the Redbirds, I was irate.
Nevertheless, I quickly jumped on the Diamondbacks  bandwagon.  It's a new season and Tony LaRussa still haunts the dugout.  The Cardinals have plenty of talent to win the World Series, but Tony is about 3 Hall-of-Famers short with his style of managing.  Andy Benes starting the
team's second game of the season?  I thought maybe Kile died or something.  Hard to believe the Cardinals haven't won a World Championship in 20 years.  There's no doubt they should've been there last season.  I'll be at Bank One Ballpark on April 15, 16 and 17 rooting on the Cardinals
and making a trip to Busch Memorial in July.

Go Redbirds,

Mike G.

I just wanted to let you know that I really liked your Cardinal Site. I see
you have a lot of the same cardinal collectibles that I do. I am trying to
find some odd ball stuff on the Gashouse Gange Era. Pepper Martin, Dean,
Frisch, Medwick are some of my favorite cardinals.

Also, I am trying to put together cardinal world series pieces, anything for
sale or trade I would be interested.

How about the game today, Andy Benes needs to get off the team. He just
doesn't have it and our manager needs to go also. We will never win a World
Series if we play American League baseball. Brett
09 Apr 2002 My name is Steve Owens, originally from Arkansas, now living in Durham, North Carolina.  I just recently (last week) found your site and I must tell you that it is one of the greatest sites I have ever come across.  I am only 25, but I have been loyally following the Cards since the fall of '87 and then full blown since the 1988 season.  To have all that information you've compiled in one place is truly great, and I even realize you are adding more day by day, or whenever you get the chance.

I do have one question for you.  Do you have a list of the old logos the Cardinals have used throughout the years, or know of anyone, or any site that does?  I am a big logo guy, I love to copy and paste official logos for myself to make my own wallpapers for my own PC here at the house.  I have all the new logos from various sources, but even if I did not put them on wallpapers, would like a collection of the old logos throughout the years.  You would appear to be someone who knows where I can find a site to download them from or know someone who could email me some.

Thank you once again for your site, I am about to email a few of my die-hard Cardinal fans your site's address to get them to check it out as well.

Great site, keep up the GREAT Work!  Steve Owens

03 May 2002 Hello Kevin - Just found out about your wonderful web site. I'm not a  Cardinals' fan since I grew up in Southern Cal where your Cardinals kicked my Dodgers' butt in the late 60s and then beat my Giants (I moved to Northern Cal in 1981 and renounced the Dodgers soon after *g*) in '87, but hey I recognize true brilliance. *g* And hey the Cardinals are one of the truly great franchises over the history of baseball!

Hey I noticed what looks like an error on the Cardinals' Hall of Fame page. The line on Bob Gibson says he pitched from 1959-1975 and says he was elected by the BBWWA in 1976. Huh? That seems wrong. There's a five year wait isn't there on eligibility?

Love your memorabilia page. I have a LA Dodgers program from 1968 with Stan the Man's autograph on it. He was sitting a row or two in front of me at a Dodgers-Cardinals game and was gracious enough to sign my program, along with those of a handful of other kids.

I have my own site about the San Francisco Seals, if you'd care to take a look sometime. Nowhere near as extensive as your site, but that's ok. It gives me an idea of what I should think of  adding to mine. *g* It's at http://www.tdl.com/~thawley/seals.htm. Regards, Todd H.

Found your site tonight while checking the Pittsburgh score.  It's great!  Keep up your good work.
04 Jun 2002 Kevin - My name is Scott Saeger.  My grandfather was Kenneth L Saeger.  He played for the Cardinals and had a World Series ring but I don’t know what year he won. I was hoping that you may have some site or information that I could get from you.  Thanks for all the help you can give me.

Hi Kevin - Hey, you have a great website. I'm a toy designer and can appreciate all your hard work.

Anyway I have inherited a cigar box of old things and among them is a little red box that holds a wooden baseball bat pen and pencil set.  Each bat says the word CARDINALS in red script and each bat also has a small blue circle with the words WORLD CHAMPIONS in it.

Since the pen is the type you have to dip in an ink well, I'm guessing 40s. There was a similar set on ebay for the Boston Red Sox and that set had an original ad in it to send away for additional sets or a 1943 New York World Champions stamp album. The company was called MAJOR LEAGUERS and was located in Paterson, NJ. It looks like these sets did not say World Champions like the Cardinals set I have, but National or American League instead.  Do you think this set was made after the Cardinals won the 1942 World Series?

Any other information you have on this item would be appreciated. Especially as to value as I'll probably sell it -I'm a SF Giants fan!  Best regards, Bill Hanlon, Castro Valley, CA

“What fun to read and show my 5 grandsons. My Dad, Howie "Spud" Krist pitched for the Cards and we love sharing the history of the team, and the game, with them. Ryan, age 11, is certain he is the next professional ball player in the family and can't get enough of this stuff. Keep up the memories.”  Linda Krist Smith

"I saw your website on the internet, and I'm hoping that you can help me. When I was young, we went to St. Louis to visit friends -- early to mid 60's. We went to Sportman Park to watch the Cardinals play and in the game, I'm 99% positive thinking back, the Cardinals hit 4 consecutive home runs in one inning. It's hard to remember, but I think that the home runs were hit by Bill White, Ken Boyer, Curt Flood, and maybe Lou Brock. I think that Lou Brock was playing with the Cardinals that day. I can't find an information on the internet about the Cardinals ever hitting 4 consecutive home runs in a game. I would appreciate any help that you could give me. Thanks Dale Pruitt"

“Our kids live in LaGrange , GA and we enjoy a loving competition with them about the Cardinals and the Braves. In our estimation, the Cards beat the Braves by a country mile.” Mary Harris, Sullivan , MO.

“I love this site!!! I have been following the Cards since I was 9 years old (1982). While I live in Oklahoma , I try to take the family to St. Louis at least once each year to "teach the kids" about Cardinals history. This site has great information!!!” GoCards44

14 Oct 2004 Can you tell me who is the current owner of the Cards? Does Anheuser Busch own the team?   Knowing this will put a disagreement to rest. Thanks,  Len Bona

“I am interested in finding out if there is anyone else out there that has the 1942 Cardinals 'tattoo'. I was 17 when the St. Louis Cardinals won the series in '42 and among the excitement had the cardinal emblem 'tattoo' placed on my forearm.” Joe M., High Ridge , MO

26 Oct 2004 Hello :) A quick note before tonight's HUGE game. I was wondering if you are acquainted with Grandpa Boog over on BOTB.com? If so, I would love to see some of his Card stories somewhere, maybe your site? He's 78 and a grand story teller. Love your site! Thanks, wldflr-BOTB Lydia
19 Nov 2004 I'm a huge fan, love your site, and my 12 year old daughter keeps asking: "Why are they called the Cardinals?" Do you know, can you help? THANK YOU!
10 Dec 2004 I really enjoy this website.  It is a great source of history and pride for the best fans in baseball.  I was wondering when you were going to update your website through 2004.  I have been referring your website to all my baseball friends and they really enjoy it as well.  They are also as eager as I am in getting the update through 2004.

Continue to do a great job.  Thank you!

Sincerely,  Luigi Abbate

My Grandfather George Washington Paynter (real name spelled Paner) played one game in the big leagues - August 12, 1894 for the then St Louis Browns before the name change to Cardinals.

Game was against Reds in Cincinnati and he was severely hurt during his last at bat and never played again.

Do you know of any team uniform photos of the 1894 St Louis team? Any chance a copy of the day's score card is available? I know his individual statistics from that game but no confirmation of his beaning, etc. Injury was life threatening, last rites performed, comma for a month is the family story. In the clubs web site there is no reference to being hit by a pitch so I am digging into the story.

Family story is he had been playing at Mobile, AL minor league and was hurt and home in Cincinnati convalescing when the St Louis team arrived to play the Reds - he was activated and got hurt in his one game. Any light you can shed on this?

At Charlie Gitto's in St. Louis by the ballpark, there is a photo behind the cash register of several of the 1964 Cards in their street clothes sitting in front of their lockers with the jerseys hanging in them.  Seated from left to right are Maris, McCarver, Gibson, Shannon, Brock and Cepeda.  Do you know where a copy might be obtained.  (A good one, a friend gave me one but from the underexposure, I suspect it may have been pirated.)

A friend of mine asked what the all-time win-lose record of the Card vs Cubs was. I have tried to find that stat with no avail. Where can I find that number? Thanks! Go Cards!
- Mark Estrop, Springfield, IL
16 Aug 2005 Could you please tell me the Cardinals overall win/loss record vs the Chicago Cubs for their entire history.
25 Nov 2005 I have a 1958 Busch Bavarian calendar with the seating chart of the old stadium on it. It shows the reserve ticket price at $1.85. The calendar pages have been removed but the hard cardboard backing with the seating chart and other info is there. I'm interested if this is worth keeping. I would like to sell it if it is worth anything. I am a big Cardinals fan over here in Parsons, Ks. I just don't go back in the history that well. I usually attend 5-10 games a year. Any info you can supply me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Russell
