Kevin Knell is a third-generation Cardinal fan, born and
raised in the southwest Missouri town of Carthage.
Growing up on "Whitey-ball" of the 80's, Kevin is a big fan
of the hit-and-run and the stolen base. But since the (former) king of
homeruns was a Cardinal, Kevin made a special effort to be inside Busch
Stadium the days Mark McGwire hit numbers 60, 61 and 62 during the 1998
season (what a ride!). Thanks for the memories Big Mac.
Kevin has two devout Cardinal fan-offspring. The entire family
shares the passion for Cardinal baseball, each with a different favorite
player (Lauren's is J.D. Drew - they share the same birthday; Corben's is
Albert Pujols).
Since Kevin's father passed away in December of 1997, he has become an
active collector of Cardinals World Series memorabilia. This has
proven to be a great way to enjoy Cardinal baseball while maintaining a
connection to the past generations!
You might meet Kevin at the St.
Louis Sports Forum (GibandLou) or at BirdsontheBat.com
(GibandLou). The User IDs obviously represent
two of his all-time
favorite Cardinals, Bob Gibson and Lou Brock.
